Prof. Arul Arulrajah is a distinguished Professor of Geotechnical Engineering at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Curtin University of Technology in 2005. His research focuses on geotechnical engineering applications, particularly the sustainable use of reclaimed demolition materials, biosolids, and dredged clay spoils.
Prof. Arulrajah has been a Chief Investigator in 42 research projects totaling AUD$15.7 million, including significant funding from the Australian Research Council (ARC) and various state government grants. He leads 23 of these projects, totaling AUD$6 million. His work bridges the gap between academic inquiry and industrial practice, leading to significant advancements in geotechnical engineering.
He has authored one book, five book chapters, over 350 journal papers (predominantly Q1 ranked), and over 100 conference papers. His research has earned him a Google Scholar H-index of 75 and a Scopus H-index of 66. He has supervised 22 Ph.D. students as the principal coordinating supervisor and continues to mentor numerous others. Prof. Arulrajah's contributions have garnered numerous national and international awards, including the prestigious Telford Premium Prize from the Institution of Civil Engineers, UK.
